Launched from SI at 2:30 am it was a little choppy but not bad. Started trolling at grey light just past the 390. Headed to the butterfly found a paddy about the half way mark and caught 2 nice yellows. Than continued to the butterfly and made a turn to the airplane. Found a nice temp break about 3 miles down. Worked the break for about an hour and got a double. the lines got crossed and the one with the braid cut rite thru the mono (of corse). Landed one Albacore about 35#. Stayed in the area for about an hour with no love. Trolled back toward the barn stopping on every paddy we saw for one more nice yellow. DSC00200.jpg

Thank's for the report. From what I could hear on the radio yesterday, it's still a pretty scratch bite out there.

Yep it was pretty slow out there. I guess you had to be in the correct place at the correct time, or in my case lucky.

I wish it would have been scratchy for us today on the tuna, it was a desert!
Went to some 6 pack numbers from yesterday where they were done by 930AM(second hand report) about 36 nm 228 degres MB; didn't see or meter an f'n thing, few porpoise, about a 1/4 mile of bait and that was it. Made it as far out as 32 19 118 03 - 65.4 degree water and dead. Headed back up towards the 43 ( 32nm 237 MB) and found 3 paddys for 15 - 8-10# YT, 66.5 degrees, which saved the day. Beautiful ocean the first 25 nm; then rolly polly out to 50nm but nice if you traveled downswell. Not as rough as predicted, a few fish occasionally and you'd never notice. 68 degrees on the 224-302-230 in the PM

Our fish were in 63.8 degree water right on the temp break. Also got one knock down earlier on the same break. Not sure if it was the right kind but it did not feel like a bonito.
