There has been a huge increase (4-6 a day) in spam registrations. I may have to impose more aggressive tactics in the registration options.

Don't let anyone register without contacting the web master for approval. If someone really want to participate on the site, I think a few day grace period while the web master gets back to them won't hurt the site.

thats what I did right after I posted the above. I spent an hour deleting fake users and I'm only half done!
