Fished and hooped Catalina Thursday and Friday hopping to get our first seabass of the season but the water was a bit cold. There were fish on the meter but the didn't want to chew. we end the trip with 42 bugs, a nice Catalina halibut and a handful of bass. Largest went 3.8lbs.

Joe,

You better try to buy a complete booklet and save on fuel going back and forth to the license agent next year. It will only take you one trip to fill the whole card!

Nice catch are the squid still showing? The yakkers are snagging eggsacks inLJ off the bottom, they must be here too.

Let me know when the Whities go on the chew. I've got 7 weeks of vacation to burn this year and would like to spend a couple of those up your way shadowing you guys.

I will Mike, If I was down your way, I would be spending a few nights along the kelp in LJ where the squid are grouped up. Joe

Joe I saw the flak for those 2 day permits on the other site; I guess it's just a matter of when you write down your departure time on your card and when you actually get checked, bunch of jealous bastards they are!

Anybody want to go look for squids the week of the January 28th? I’m good except for Wed. No I don’t mean those big nasty ones unless we’re going on your boat and I don’t have to clean it when we’re done.
