DP-E Drive issues

Does anyone have input as to how many hours you can get out of a DP-E drive. I realize that it depends on the type of use as well as generalized maintenence.
I Changed the gear oil it was jet black, and I have noticed a slight bearing whine. I have been religous with the maintenence. Im looking at 1500hrs on this unit.

Are you changing fluid every 100 or 200 hrs? Volvo recommends shimming the gears every 1000 hrs and I think it buys you more time. Alot of Duoprop units fail between 1500-2000 hrs even though synthetic oil is changed religously @ 200 hrs. Mine would be black too @ 200 hrs; it looked better @ 100hrs so I've been changing every 100 for a couple of years now.
