I finally found a small embroider shop in La Mesa that will work with us on a one item a year volume, and the price is very reasonable. He is willing to do garments one at a time or a mixed bag of stuff for $15 and item for the logo and $4 for a your name on the other side.

For those that aren't familiar with the jacket we give out, here's a photo of Jeff, Charlie and myself modeling the jackets. It's hard to see the logo on the jacket but if you scroll up to the top of the page, it's the BOCA club logo on the top left that we have embroiders on the jackets.

The shop is Merlin Embroidery http://www.merlinemb.com On the site you can go through the catalog and see if anything interest you. He is digitizing the logo from my jacket and will make the text around the logo a separate layer you can edit or delete. Some might like to drop the "year" and "Top Skipper" and keep just the "Highliner Tournament". That's fine with me, all I ask is that you respect the guys that earned the "Top Skipper" tittle and don't order stuff with that on it.

I copied and pasted a few of the item that I thought might interest the group, but he is willing to order whatever you like.

Item J730 is very close to the jacket we’ve been giving away to the tournament winner. If you guys want to make a change to that, now might be a good time to look at a few new jackets for the tournament winner.

I plan on doing a long sleave shirt run for myself by the first of July. If you want to get an item or two in on the same order let me know. By mid June he will have the art work done so you can stop in or call him yourself and order what ever you want. He will also work with items you bring in from another store if you don't see something in the cataloge that fits your needs.

I dropped off some stuff today (6/24) and ordered 2 of the long sleeve button up shirts with the the words "Highliner Tournament" over our logo.

If you want in on the first run give Kevin at Merlin Embroidery a call @ 619 466-9712 and let him know what you want done. Please make arrangements to pay for you potion of the order through Kevin. I don't mind picking the stuff up but I draw the line at being your personal shopper.

Mike

I'm going with the S600T shirts for myself. Kevin will be out of the shop on Friday and plans on ordering the shirts first part of next week. Call him Thursday or Monday morning if you want in on this run.

I'm gonna come clean about something, guys. I love the logo and would love a sweatshirt or a jacket but, for this purpose, I really wish we were BBOCA instead of BOCA. That extra B=Boat. It's an unfortunate coincidence and I hope I'm not out of line in sharing my sentiments, but I kind of feel self-conscious about wearing the Blackman Owner's Club tag in public.

Picked up my shirts today. $16 for the logo and $4 for the name. I think that's a great price compared to what we've paid in the past. He did the logo up 4 ways. The generic Highliner Tournament like the shirts below, 2004 Top Skipper like the sample jacket, 2008 Top Skipper that I still owe Joe and a 2009 Top Skipper that we will give out in the fall.
