With the albacore being just a bit out of range and the kelp paddy yellows having lock jaw, I went back to dragging the mud.

Started off working a 100 yards outside of the IB kelp. Two deens on the bottom for the halibuts and two macs on the top, just in case a WSB swims by. Before I get the full speed out I'm bit. Into the box goes the first keeper halibut. The one quick halibut was nothing but a tease. The place turned into a wide open sand shark bite after that. After an hour of that I had my fill of re-tying trap rigs and beat feet back to the bay.

There was way to much sailboat traffic to work the channel, so I ended up at the old standby spot near the blue MTV house . Within 5 minutes I put the second keeper in box and call it a day.

Both fish had mud on the underside(not activlly feeding) so it looks like I got lucky and drop a bait in the right place at the right time today.
