She'll be needing a new trailer, fuel tank, and some TLC.

John,

How bad is the trailer? It didn't look that bad in the pics that the guy sent me. If you can save it with some work I'd stick with it considering the (lack of) quality of new ones and how proud they are of them $$$$$$$$. Glad you had the vision to see through the "ugly" unlike most of the haters on BD that wouldn't know what a good boat was if it bit them on the ass.

Mike,

I passed on that 10,000# aluminum. Turns out the tongue was bent pretty good. I ended up rebuilding the old Aros with new brakes and hubs. She survived the trip to BoLA so I guess there is plenty of life left in her. Well I guess enough life for me to build a 10k# one from scratch.

The Trailer is pretty bad.
I've seen another fellow work wonders on a trailer i didn't think could be saved. Maybe worse than this one. I just don't want to go down that road, if possible.

two tires on Starboard don't hold air. I may have to bring two tire/wheels combos.
I can bring 4 hub/bearing/race/seal/bearing buddy kits from Pacific trailer, at $40 each for $160.
I can't deal w brakes on a one day bearing job, so would make the drive w/o brakes 180 miles, Sylmar to Lemon Grove. Big GMC 2500 HD, don't think I need boat brakes. I drive very conservatively.
The Trailer frame, is a rusted hulk, broken clear through, in two places at the rear cross frame. There is no 220V for a welder at the site, so I can bring my Oxy Acetelyne welder, but, welding very rusty steel, very iffy.
I was hoping not to have to put ANY money into that trailer, but my inflatable, not selling, due to hard economy. My wishful thinking was inflatable sale would buy newer, used, trailer.

What Alum trailer were you referring to?

Aluminum trailer was a used on CL. Used Navy surplus with a pintle mount. Guys wanted $2500 for it but with all the new hardware it needed I passed. Keep searching CL and something workable will come up.

I'm guessing these guys

Check with Freeway Trailers up in Escondido. I think I paid $25-28 for each Hub/bearing/seal manufactured from nothing but the finest materials China has to offer. This will get her home I guess.

I have a new, long block, engine for it. But need to find a blown one to get all the parts, like flywheel, flexplate, and accessories. http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/18/42/25/67/dsc_0015.jpghttp://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/18/42/25/67/dsc_0016.jpg
