How bout you guys up there in the bay area posting some reports. It would be cool to see if trailering the boat up there would be worth it. Besides you could kick our butts down here in the rockfish category and get some salmon points as well. Lets see there's Rosie, and a couple other boats up there right? I realize that the many of the species in the highliner tournament are SOCAL species but there are several that you could get. I guess the weather is much more of a factor up there. Correct me if I'm wrong but you could catch the following up there:
- rock cod
- ling cod
- salmon
- thresher sharks
- mako shark
- albacore
- bluefin tuna
- halibut
- WSB?
- bigeye tuna (occasionally)
- marlin (northern channel islands occasionally)
I'd like to attempt filling the salmon slot in 2005. What is the best time of the year to get salmon in the Morro Bay area?
