Good day BOCA,
Fished wednesday at LJ kelp and tried a few other spots just north. Lotsa kayakers out there. Also saw Phil (Knot now) out there again. Geez, doesn't that guy have a job?? Fishing was very slow. Finally managed a decent calico bite at the north west corner on sardines. Lotsof meter marks just outside the kelp which looked like the right kind but no takers. Checked a few rocks in deeper water off of torrey pines and very few marks. Dropped down a jig anyway and to my surprise puled up a big fat squid (11:00AM).
Over to Torrey pines to drift for butt's. One good hookup but it broke off my buddies line. I think he had some old line. Agan lots of meter marks that looked like bait and predators but no other takers. Big swell!!! Sea Lions were a pain in the butt near LJ kelp. Best fish of the day was a 2.6lb calico.
