Yesterday I spoke with Pepe in the late afternoon while refueling the Doghouse. He was coming up to the 371 from the 390 area where they caught 4 albies and released a striped marlin caught on a P&B Albacore feather earlier in the day. Not sure if they have pics but Gordy was the angler and it jumped at least 10 times according to Pepe, he sounded pretty excited. Way to go Hijole!

After a thorough interrogation today via cellular telephone in lie detector mode by Dan Muslin, Mission Bay Marlin Club Weighmaster, it was determined the fish was released about 150 yards away from the boat after a 20 minute battle on straight 40#. The first flag is still up for grabs. :p

We heard Hijole out there having a good time but never did get a fix on his location. Thanks for the info and congradulations to Pepe. Sounds like the marlin are starting to move in. Time to take the time to put a few macks in the bow tank every trip.

Incidental marlin hookup or not it must have been exciting.
