Hit the beaches again today for some more practice with the new setup. Started off a the Hotel Del for a few short bites, then move down to the Silver Strand.
Not being very familiar with the strand, I pull into a 20 minute parking spot at the front gate. Hit the first hole I came across for a wide open bite on the better grade perch.
Sure enough 20 minutes goes by and I see a ranger pull up in the lot I was In. No good perch bite is worth getting a ticket over, so I went back to the car and hit the road for some beaches to the north.
First stop was Mission beach for 8 small perch and all the weeds you could haul in. Next stop would be back to my old stand-by, Torrey Pines. Found a nice hole and it went wide open for the next hour as the tide was peaking.
Ended the day with 12 Walleye and 24 Barred perch, including this big mama that was just about to drop the kids off at the pool.
Stayed with the Gulp camo sandworm all day.
