What is it worth?
1981 23' Blackman outerbanks. Hull #144. tamd41p Volvo motor with $11,000 receipt from 2008( has not been run since installed.),solid trailer with new brakes, the hull.... Needs the entire deck replaced,, was left sitting with the bow down in the rain.all the bow cushions are shot.along with most of the deck wood, bulkheads appear solid. The boat does have an upper station, furuno radar, windlass, bait tank, hydraulic steering, and would be worth fixing.best offer takes it.

Your looking at a lot of work in that one. You probably need to pull the pilot house so you can remove the deck and bulkheads for starters. It would take a guy a years worth of weekends and a pile of cash to get that boat ready to fish. If the engine and outdrive prove to be good, I'd think $10,000 would be on the high side.
I've seen a couple 23's for sale that are ready to fish for about the same money.

Just had an ex Blackman employee look at the deck.he didn't seem to concerned about.said he could do it in a couple of weekends.

Get him to quote it if he's interested in doing the work. Figure on getting into a bulkhead or two while you're under the deck. If you can keep the total cost under 24K including your time, you'll have a nice boat for a fair market price. If you're thinking about fixing it up and selling it, I don't think there's much of a profit margin at the asking price.

If you are around on Sunday, I'd be interested in seeing the boat. I've never seen a Outerbanks 23' that was the way Don built it. I've seen several Albacore Specials that guys have built a pilot house for. Some turned out OK, some not so good.
Give me a call if you have some free time this weekend. Mike 619 666-6870
