Thread: Rock Pile

    Default Rock Pile

Headed down to the Rock Pile yesterday at 0500 with a half scoop of dines. Got there at 0715 and found 14 boats already there. Slowed trolled a rapalla and the bonito bite began. By 11:30 We had our limits of bonito (3-5 lbs ea) and some nice nice sculpin (4). The wind picked up and we returned to the dock at 12:30. I understand some boats caught some yellows but we never saw any caught or swimming. Lots of seal lions.

It sounds like if was crazy fishing on Sunday and Monday but slowed way down after that.

At least you got to pull on something that pulled back.

Looked like a full moon as well. I'm hoping it picks up by late weekend or early next week. Lots of money spent on the boat this year for maintenance and I want to get some good use out of it.

You been doing any good on halibut?

San Diego bay is the place to be right now. It's been tough along the beach so far, but that will change as the summer gets closer.

    Default Skiffin in SD Bay

I might give it a try Sunday in the 18' Bayrunner; it looks downright nasty right now and I don't think it will calm down enough to go outside, we'll see.
