    Default PM Tuna Run 7-12-07

Left MB around 130 with a good scoop of chovy, Baitman said it was slow at the 182, 302, etc and everyone was crying. Headed inbetween the 182 & 224 looking for the cooler 65 degree water which has moved a little west on the Terrafin Chart; put the jigs in @ 3:45 PM at 3232 11743 and changed course to 200 degrees. Picked up a single and a baitfish @ 32 30 117 46; went another 2 nm downswell to 32 28 117 35 for another single; headed towards the sportfleet for 4nm and never saw them stop so we went back to our numbers for another single and a double with baitfish back at 30 over 46. The seas were rough with 4' swells @ 6 seconds; we headed back home with 7 total for 4 anglers @ 715 arriving at 930 clean fish and boat and I'm beat! Natural cedar plug and Mex Flag way back were the heros today. If you find some marks don't leave it, we wasted 1-1.5 hours in the dead zone. Look out for big whales off the top of the 9 mile 12nm 225 degrees MB, blues or humpbacks I don't know but quite a few of them be careful in the dark. Others had radio fish late in the day @ 32 38 117 55.

A 7 fish afternoon run is a good trip in my book. It looks like it's time to search out a new school and give that 182 stuff a rest.

Hope to get out mid week next week after I recover form working nights this weekend.
