I have a Garmin 182C GPS thats not reading the blue chip is it possible that the chip is bad.

I have the same unit and mine did the same thing, I had to send it to Garmin and have fixed. They were very helpful and fixed it for free, plus did an upgrade and replace the front screen. Joe

Was it out of warranty when repaired ?

I have a 182C with chip that I use as back-up if you need to borrow it while yours is out being fixed.
