Here are some more pictures for anybody interested in progress Tony Athens is making on my repower job. The work is going great so far.

    Yanmar control panel

    Custom strut and shaft

New Trim Tabs - I wanted bigger ones - these are 12 x 30 inches

Very cool. Did you do away with the pressurized hynautic steering system?

    Default Wow

    Hey Charlie,
are you doing a new rudder also?
Clearly you will be doing a new prop- what size?
Did you consider using the Volvo trim system?
Does your new Yanmar system give you fuel consumption tied into the gps?
    Keep up the updates.

    Default Repower - More Pix

I am posting more pix for those interested. To answer the questions - Tony thinks the prop will be best around 18 x 18. The steering is now a dual station SEAFIRST hydraulic steering - removed old system. I am going to put in a Flowscan to help monitor fuel consumption. I am thinking of replacing the rudder to a larger model that should improve steering at low speeds.

I am going up tomorrow to Oxnard to check things out in person. I have not seen the progress so far in person. I'll take pictures and post later if there is any thing new.

I think things are going good.

    Charley

    Test fit of prop

Test fit for engine mounts - pulled it right back out for painting bilge and engine compartment.

    Yanmar controls at inside helm.

    Default Rudder size.

    Wow,
Charley, I don't think that the rudder was original. I am pretty sure it had already been supersized once. The other 26's that I've seen with a straight shaft had a much smaller rudder.
