Looking to pick up a used rig to tow the boat. Thinking maybe an F250 diesel. What would you guys suggest, need something with guts to get up the hills to my house. Want to keep it under $10k. Any thoughts as to the rig and specs???

I am dragging mine around with an 1982 1 ton chevy. I have to climb 14 miles of pretty steep hill to get home. The only issue I have is the 55 gallons of fuel to go to Shelter Island and back. It is about a 100 miles each way.
55 gallons have you ever thought about slipping that boat .It may save time and money in your case.
I tow my boat with a F 250 7.5 liter gas motor .It will be hard to find a later model diesel for under 10 K.

It cost me 15K to upgrade from my 85 F250 to the 2000 I picked up 18 months ago. If you just need it to haul the boat out a couple times a year, a gas truck would be the way to go for the money you want to spend.

There are a few trucks on craigslist.com (San Diego) that are ~10K. Looks like an F250 or similar size truck should be easy to find.

Good luck!
You're probably right on the diesel. I won't be using it that much so the big gas engine is the way to go. Love that V10! Thanks for all the links!
