    Default SAFTEY!!!

With fishing slow and not much to report it’s a good time to do winter maintenance and check our safety equipment. I.E. Flares, horn, first aid equipment, ECT... also please check and register your DSC on your VHF. If you do nor have a VHF with one buy one! A good radio is very inexpensive and could save you life! I prefer ICOM radio's but have a standard horizon and an ICOM 604 on my boat. Here is the web site to register and a few radio web sites. Joe

I buy really expensive stuff so people think I am cool and think I know what I am doing JUST KIDDING. I bought the 604 after I used friends, The ICOM’s have a lot of futures that I liked and use a lot. I can send messages over the radio to other ICOM users via text to there radio (good for calling friends in on fish without keying up) It has a loud hail and PA that I use when I we are hooping. I can talk to the guys outside on deck and they can talk back through the Horn\speaker. It also has a scrambler so when I do talk to the guys in my fishing group our words are scrambled and the biggest reason is I got it dirt cheap.
