    Default Furuno FCV582

Does anyone have a used Furuno FCV582 laying around.
Mine took a dump on me. I really don't want to wire in
    a new system...

Did the display crap out or is it all snowy? Mine was all snowy last year and it was the Xducer. Honey Girl has a 582L for sale last I checked.

    Hi Mike,

The unit will turn on. It will read temps and speed, but no bottom.
The screen doesn't move. I put the display on my brother's boat and
it does the same thing so I don't think it's the transducer.

    The 582L uses a 10 pin while the 582 uses an 8 pin plug. I really don't
want to pull everything out and install a different unit.

I spoke to Furuno tech support today; good people! I am sending the
display to them tomorrow and see what kind of money to repair the unit.

I think he would need the 10 pin sounder to 8 pin transducer if he is going to use the 582L with his existing Xducer. I have the adapter you speak of so I can use either my 585(10 pin) or 582(8 pin) on a new B260 Transducer(10 pin).

Thanks guys...the actual adapter for a 8 pin transducer to a 10 pin sounder
is AIR-033-204. I am still waiting for Furuno to let me know what it will cost
me to repair the old CRT unit...

Sounds like a good deal Joe but I am trying to get by with what I have
    for another year...My list for X-Mas 2009 will be a Navnet 3Ds...7" and 10"
interfaced to handle the Sonar, GPS and Radar.

BTW, how's the "Honeygirl" coming along? My lobster honey hole has became
bow wow heaven...I need a new spot...

Their still having problems with the 3D. I have the Navnet II and love it. I have a 7” and a 10” and I would highly recommend going for 2 10”.

Wamie. The Furuno 3D is a damn nice unit. I have some friends that updated and love it. The transitions are seamless and the screens are clear as day. As far as the HONEYGIRLS goes, she coming along nicely. The engine is in and I should have every thing hooked up by next week. The new drive is on order with a new set of props, should be in very soon. The bait system is done which includes all New pumps, valves and plumbing. The new Nav-Net is 90% installed (2 10.4 inch screens) with a new transducer. Two new VHf radios are in with two new Comrod antennas. A newly fabricated pole holder is on and looks great. I had a new breaker panel made by seaward products to match the other ones In the boat and its instaled and easy to reach. The wife asked for a heater in the boat and going to be installed this week. The batteries have been split and the windless now has its own battery. The house and engine batteries are separated to port and starberd sides with new battery boxes and all new cables. There's much more being done but I wont bore you with the details. she needs a good washing and waxing I hope to have her back in the water by mid January. Thanks Joe
