Default New Guy - Tony S

    Hello Everyone,

I'm one of the new Tony's. I have a 2005 26' Billfisher - "Libre". I have owned it for almost two years now. I keep it in the water at HI West Marina. Love my boat and I love to fish! I fish year round and go almost once a week. I have met several other Blackman owners and maybe some of you I have met already.

I have owned other boats previously, but really admired Blackman's. Once I decided I was going to buy a Billfisher it took over a year to find the right one for me. I got word that Libre's original owner needed to sell the boat. One quick run through and I made an offer and closed the deal a couple days later.

Look forward to meeting everyone and getting involved in the club.

    Thanks,
    Tony

    Welcome Tony.
Congrats on the boat. Look forward to seeing you on the water and/or at any of the BOCA get-togethers.

Welcome aboard Tony, can't wait to get those weekly on the water reports (hint hint )! As you well know now you picked the right boat. Which part of the coast to you fish from out of High West Marina and what's your favorite fish to catch?

Thanks guys! Can't wait to learn from everyone here about our boats and fishing. I have some questions, but I think I am supposed to post them in another area.

Ha...Unfortunately a lot of them will be no fish reports! Last weekend I got skunked fishing some stones straight out of Pt Loma. Shallow about 100ft. I wasn't trying very hard. Didn't have any bait and was using Lucanus jig.

My favorite fish to catch and eat is Tuna. But I enjoy fishing for Halibut and rock cod or the usual bottom fishing. Since I am out of San Diego Bay at Harbor Island West Marina I mostly fish Pt. Loma and south. Whistler buoy, 9 mile, IB Flats/Pier, Coronado Islands, Rock Pile and the usual offshore banks.

I'm fishing in the Halibut Classic on Saturday and pre-fishing it Friday. I'm moving the Libre over to the Dana Marina for the weekend tomorrow morning. Anyone else fishing in the tournament?

There is no such thing as the wrong forum. Don't worry about posting what you want, where you want.

I think Zack on the Fire ESCAPE is fishing the tournament. I bet he pre fishes Friday as well.

I'm in it as well but the swell is supposed to be 5-7' with 10 nts of wind on it early: I don't know if it will be fishable outside the bay. I'll probably quit by noon as I'm supposed to be up at a reunion @ Pachanga Sat PM for a Boxing Match. I'll keep an eye out if anyone wants to go let me know I have 2 spots open.

The forecast I saw was 6'-8' blowing 25 in the morning, coming down to 5 by evening. My guess is the tournament will be stuck in the bay like it was a few years ago.
