hey Eric, sorry I have not gotten back to you.. You should learn how to do the hundred hour check yourself. then do it every 50 instead of 100. A mechanic can look at your engine blindfolded and find $2500. with no problem. Just like a dentist with magnifying glasses can find $2500.00 without batting an eyelid
fter putting thousands of hours on your Blackman, I can tell you that the engine will always get you home, leaking, sputtering or what. Keep plenty of fuel filters, carry a spare impellor and know how to change it out.

The out drive shaft is Volvo's mess. They advise it to be changes out every 1000hrs
Most importantly, pull your props after every trip, check your seals for line and oil for water. When the outdrive goes, and it will, Vessel assist is your friend. The first year I had the boat, outdrive blew 10 miles past Tanner on way to Cortez
