Default 7/1 Wide Open at the 390

Got a bit of a late start, and got to the tuna grounds a bit after 9:00. Started at the 390 and worked a few miles south of the high spot. Easy limits on albies for all aboard within 2 hours. Mostly nice grade of fish, 18-24 pounds. Seas were flat calm. Great day on the water. Will post pics tomorrow.

    Best jig: small blk/prpl yazuri

    Best area: 32 00 and 117 47

    Good going Charlie.

Sounds like pretty easy pickings compared to yesterday.

Nice job! All these reports are killing me! Still waiting to get the new documentation papers from the USCG. No Certificate, no Mexican permit, no fish Mexican waters.

All dressed up and nowhere to go! Boat is finished for now: New Racor 900 fuel filter, new electronics: Raymarine C 120 multi function system, new batteries and battery management system with two combiners one controlling 2 starting banks of 2 batteries each and one controlling house and starting banks. House bank is 2 370 amp 6v golf cart batteries, 2000 watt inverter and 3 stage charger, Balmar 110 amp alternator with 3 stage external regulator, new freshwater system, 25 gallon w/ 6 gallon water heater, hot water to sink and to a cockpit shower, new interior paint, new 4 inch cushions with Sunbrella fabric, new bose speakers, new paint engine room with new 1/2 inch sound insulation, new Todd Helm Chair ice chest for tower seating, new tower paint, Icom 602 main VHF, 402 backup VHF in tower, cell phone and am-fm anteanas, 2 vhf antennas, sat phone, new swim step, tank racks and a new ABT tri-axle aluminum trailer, 18,000 gvw, 2 axles with stainless disk brakes, electric over hydraulic controls. Just need the holding tank system but that can wait for now.
Friday night we are going to Clemente and Saturday we are going to check out the break the sst shows that way and hope for some American fish to fry for an American holiday.

Vacated the old slip Chrisfish had in Mission Bay on Tuesday and am still waiting for a slip in DP.

You all have a safe and fun holiday and catch some fish!

    Very nice Charlie,

Glad to see you got out and got some good ones. Damn Jorge, you've been busy. I thought I did a lot of upgrade work. Nice job. Hope you get all the documentation in order soon. Is this a new boat or an overhaul?

Great job on the tuna; finally a great trip and weather! Hope it stays around for the weekend. Did you have any good bait stops ? Can't wait to get out Monday with Dan!

Only one fish on bait, for some reason couldn't get them to go. Heard of several good bait stops on the VHF.
