I keep reading post about boats having problems with batteries after spending the night on a the hook. Guys won't run bait pumps all night because the batteries will be dead.

6 volt batteries are the answer, switch your house batteries to two 6volts.

My batteries are 2 years old. we run lights,TV, Refregerator, Bait pumps (two)
all night and start the motor in the morning on the same set of battries.

They cost the same around 110.00 each they are about the same size they fit in same battery box they last longer.

Can you replace all 4 with 6 volts or do you still need 2 12 volt for engine ? Because I think I have one house battery that is bad.my nav net shuts off when the motors off and only last about 2 hrs.Thanks for the help.

4 - 6 volts hooked up in pairs positive to negative jumper, then connect to the open positive on one battery and the open negative on the other battery; one pair on the house side and one pair on the engine side. The drawback is the golf cart batteries are taller than the group 27s so you should modify either the box or lid.

You can see how we did it. My lids are not straped down.

You can still use the same system blackman installed or you can install a switch its up to you. We like the switch I like to know exactly what bank i'm running on. Blackmans system does work fine most guys like it.
