    Anyone have any experience with the aftermarket starter on ebay
    also the aftermarker lift motors or complet units?

    Hi Phil,
    I had my Skipjack starter rebuilt...it was a hundred plus. If your starter is still good overall, I would just have it rebuilt.
    Oh, the inside nut was a pita to remove. I used a "wobble" extension to remove mine. I can mail or ship it to you if you
    need it.

    I'm using the VALEO D9R116 on my engine and really like it. It was the replacement for the original Paris Rhone starters. I don't know any thing about the new Caltric starters that are on ebay, other than they are about the same price as the Valeo.

    Thanks for the replies

    I had no problem removing the inter nut....Its blind, but I an used to working blind...LOL.......The real trick is putting it back...I have already done that before also

    I can rebuild mine, it needs new bearing and bendix.
    I could also use a sun gear as the shaft is rusted....I polished it and its useable if I was going to sell her, but not for me going off shore......LOL......
