blackman charges $2.600 for four extra years of warranty. This would give me a total of six years warranty. Is it worth it ?.

What all does it cover? Engine, Outdrive, what about things like the trim pump, etc? Depends on what it covers. But 6 years sounds sweet if it covers a lot.

Default It's worth every penny! (If you use your boat alot!)

Blown Outdrive = $4000-6000 Piston, rod, cylinder liner = $900 each. These things start showing 1500-2500 hrs. These are the major things. Alot of the little stuff ends up due to corrosion (not covered). If you are putting 300 hrs./year on your rig then it would probably be worth it (6X300=1800 something will happen by then.) 200 hrs./year = 1200 hrs after 6 years might not be worth it.Anything over 400hrs/year it's money in the bank, a no brainer. The outdrives are the weakest link and failures commonly show between 1200 - 2000 hours

$6,800 to be more precise, installed, with props. But at least something on my rig is under warranty now. New outdrive comes with 1 year.
