    Default 11/26 Fish ID project

I got a good start on my winter project today. I would like to ID and photograph the different Rockfish that hang out off our coast.

Today I worked the bottom of the "9" in the 350' range with cut squid for bait. In my 10 fish limit I managed to collect 4 different species for my project.

    Vermillion Rockfish

    Starry Rockfish

    Greenspotted Rockfish

    Bank Rockfish

Default A Male Pacific Angel Shark

Here's a rare species for you, albeit not in your rockfish project.

Picked this up today fishing the After Thanksgiving Halibut Tournament. Thought I really had a winning butt at first Thing weighed about 40 lbs and got real pissed once on deck.

That's a rare catch for sure. The book says they have a mean set of chompers and should be handeled with care. I trust you still have all 7 of your fingers?

Were did Goose pick up the winning fish?

Cardiff by the sea area, I heard. Was the other guy he was fishing with, Boom Zing, that won, I believe. I'm not fishing it next year, but it was a good lesson.

    7 fingers? lol

Mike picks a tough time of year to put on a Halibut tournament. There are so few fish caught in the tournament he has a hard time getting guys like you and I back for a second attempt.

Move that thing to July and I'm in to win it.
