    Question Compressor disconnect switch

I've seen previous post's about a switch to disconnect the compressor at trolling speeds. I have a KAD43P with C4's and the compressor wants to turn on just about trolling speed. My questions are 1) what are the pros and cons of installing such a switch and 2) how do you do it? I see there are 2 wires leading to the unit. Do I install a switch that breaks both or one of these or ???

I think you could install a switch on the 42s but not the 43s and certainly not the 43s that are electronic. Mucho Damage! Better ask a VP Mechanic to be sure; John @ Blackman's would know 619 266 8013. He and I talked about it once but I don't remember his exact words.

    Glenn,

On the AC Tech board there's a thread bashing Volvo 42s as having piston failure, have you heard anything?

I read that on diesel.com before I bought my boat last year. Seems certain series of 42s had a problem. I cross my fingers mine is not one and believe I am ok with over 2000 hours on mine.
