Thread: SD or MB Boat Yards

  1. #1

Default SD or MB Boat Yards

I need to have the 50-50 hauled to replace a few seacocks. There are two seacocks for the head system. Both of them are frozen and need to be replaced. I'll probably have the seacocks for the engines replaced at the same time and have the bottom painted.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on who to use?

    Thanks

What size boat? Doing any part yourself or paying for all?

The boay is 28 feet long (33 with pulpit and swim step).

The seacocks for the head system are buried pretty deeply in fromt of the engines. I'll probably pay for this job as I don't have the time to do this work myself.

    Just maybe!
If the seacocks are the only problem, I would remove a hose and raise it above the water line and poor vinegar down the hose. I use it to remove salt all the time. Hopefuly it will go down to the valve and soften it up. When I soak things with salt caked up it never has failed me. On bolts an nuts I don't have to brush them either, just a soaking will do.

    Default Nice Tip

    Hijole,

That's a good tip. I haven't heard of that one before. I'd love to get these things unstuck so I can save the cash for something else.

I'll be down at the boat this weekend weather permitting and give it a shot.

    Thanks
