    Default Beer Butt Turkey

    Beer Butt Turkey

Simple and fast. Rub the turkey with some oil and spices, plug the neck hole with a potato then stand him up on a beer can. You want to use a 1/2 to 3/4 full can of beer for this. Go ahead and take a good swig or two to bring the level down in the can. I put the can in a holder to keep things from tipping over if someone bumps the BBQ. I found a pipe flange that works on the regular cans but my quest goes on for the proper holder for a Fosters.

Keep the BBQ at 350 for 2 to 3 hours and your done. 180 degrees on the breast meat.

EDIT:Start to finish in 3 hours. Ran to 7/11 for the beer at 7:30 and had it cut up and in the fridge by 10:30. Moistest turkey I ever had. We're eating at my sisters today so I had to put some leftovers in the fridge for the boys to work over this week.

    Sounds GREAT!!!
Did the Heineken make a difference?
Heineken is what I use for smoking fish and it seems to be the best.

I don't know if it was the best beer to use but my choises were pretty limited at 7/11. I wanted a tall can, so I had to choose between Heineken and Colt 45. I'd like to think I made the right choice.

My BBQ isn't that tall so we went with a 12 pounder. Going to brew up a couple chickens for dinner sunday.

Who's this Rev. Ted Haggard and is he coming over after Church Sunday too?

    Just thought I'd ask!

    Default Pics don't lie......

Did you really think you'd catch any slack here?

Mike Jones poses for a photographer in downtown Spring Valley on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006. Jones told the Associated Press on Thursday that evangelical leader Rev. Ted Haggard paid him to have sex as many as 36 times over three years. Haggard resigned as president of the influential National Association of Evangelicals on Thursday following Jones' allegations. Mike stated the Reverand loved fresh hamachi before and after the gentle massages and the money he received helped him combat the high cost of diesel fuel for his boat No Slack. PS - Thanks Mike for showing me how to post pics, it really does work!
