What's the status of your starter?
A Paris Rhone D9R116 should be the starter for all the 40 series engines. I bought my starter at PG auto electric down by Petco Park. We do a lot of bussiness with those guys and they are a big starter re-build shop if you need some work done.
I paid $450 2 years ago but wouldn't be surprized if they're up to 6 bills with the price of copper these days.

I've had good luck with PG but.......
I'll pick it up tomorrow, Rick @ Broadway Auto Electric always takes care of me and I usually get it back same day however this time he was out of solenoids, he gets one tomorrow, let did some work on the brushes today and I'll be ready @ noon Tuesday! I generally pay $125- 250 for the rebuild depending on the severity.
That's good news. It's always cheaper to fix than replace if the core is still good.

$205 and she's as good as new. Only drawback is they ran out of Volvo Green Paint!
You lucked out on the paint. It would have been $305 if came back green.
