    Default squiding for seabass

Went out Monday with our minds set on making some local squid. We didn’t even take our poles because of time restraints. That was probably a mistake because they are catching 50-60lb seabass right were we were set. Anyway set the lights out at our first real good meter mark after looking for about an hour. Less than a minute later this is what we had:

and now this is what we have 101 one gallon bags between two full size freezers.

Nice report and cool pics. Looks like a lot of good eating or good bait. Bet you were kickin yourself in the arse for not bringing rods. How many boats were set up on the spot? I've really been wanting to go up there with Tenacious but, guess I have been intimidated by what I picture as a whole bunch of boats anchored in very close quarters in the dark close to the island. Is it like that or am I way off?

Scott, This is all for bait for the season and is local squid L.B. and P.V. stuff. Its only about 15-20 min. run from my slip. There is really no boat pressure. The only thing to watch out for is your distances form the light boats. 1/4 mile seems to work and they stay cool. Joe

    Joe,

You've got some seroius fishing to do to get rid of 101 gallon bags of squid. Great report.

Scott doesnt know the differance between Food and Bait, digested or otherwise its all the same to him. Put it on a plate with some rice and beans and he will eat it.

Great going on the Years supply of (bait)
