That new pedestal seat would look good on the 20th anniversery tower you need to install!

You install a chair like that and the first thing you'll say when you sit in it is "Bring me up to Warp Speed Scotty!"

I was also looking at setting something up on my outerbanks. Driving that thing all day long and then driving home for a few hours, (my left butt cheek hanging over the edge) does not set will with my roids. I would like to have a arm rest on the left side to hold me in for the ride home. I have looked around but I think the only way is to do a custom build.. I have not done much more since before fishing season. Thought about going to the auto junk yard and get a arm rest and have it apholstered (no spell ck) My seat is secured to the back and does not have a post under the seat. I set my porta pottie and Honda generator under my seat. Good luck on your new seat.

I think the only rule Charlie insisted on was No Gay Bashing. I think everything else is cool! Oh , I almost forgot, no kiddy porn in the Avatars!

Thanks for the great advice . Actually I did go visit a place today that does really nice work custom - Sea Furniture (http://seafurniture.com/ located in Santa Ana near my office. They make really nice stuff (nice showroom where you can see everything) and I ordered a custom helm chair. I will post some pictures when they get it done and I put it in the boat.

Sorry but all the chairs I knew about are a little too big for your opening, there's not much room there as the armrests will take up alot of space. You run the risk of installing something that will be in the way wherever you try to go either in and out of the chair or to the V Berth and during a long all night run to the tuna grounds it might get a little claustrophobic. I think you did the best by going custom, that way you can tweak it to fit better. Can't wait to see how it turns out !

When I took measurements for a chair with arm rests, all of the chairs were to large. I wanted to have the chair swivel around so I could sit in the seat and talk with people at the table. If I took that route I would have killed the space under the seat, that I use for storing some items. I hope you can come up with something good that works for you. I think the only way is to go custom build.
