Default Garmin 4200 series...

We installed a 4208 on my little brother's boat the past summer and liked it so much, I have just ordered the 4210 for my older brother's new boat.

I have always been a Furuno guy, but man, Garmin will certainly have my
future business. The 1k Airmar B164 tilted element is the way to go...sits flush without the big fairing block. The 3d view is great and you can download new upgrades right from their website.

Best of all, it is very reasonable. Like most, I never even look at Garmin
for my electronic needs so I figure I share my recent installs.

I think the Garmin GPS units are much easier to navigate through than Furuno as I have each brand on 2 boats, but until the commersh guys who make their living off Furuno Sonar start switching over I think I'll just keep mine thank you! 3D is just marketing hoopla, what you really need is a Searchlight Transducer on a 3' retractable pole! Only about 20K plus installation.

I have a Garmin 521 on another boat. Works great for what it is. Easy to use. I'm not familiar with their higher end stuff. I have Furuno equipment on the Libre.
